Cookies, Cookies!

So I have lots and lots of cookies to make this month....

Really, what else is new?

I need to expand my cookie file. I've never made Rum Balls before and I'm thinking I should try them. And maybe I should take some time to make some really fancy cookies with piping and all that...maybe some nut brittles...

So, I'd like to take a poll....

What is your favorite Christmas cookie without which Christmas just wouldn't be the same?

  1. Gingerbread! Definitely! Such a favorite that we don't keep it just for Christmas. Another favorite that brings back memories is springerle. Mmmmm. Wonderfully fragrant!

  2. Springerle is another I don't think I've made before and I'll have to try.
Our gingerbread gets made into houses.

  5. Sugar cookies, cut out and decorated for the kids. Pound cake cookies for me and my husband.

  6. Are cut-out sugar cookies the "American" Christmas cookie? Other ones like springerli, pfeffernusse and the like are from the heritage of our grandparents? Or am I over-thinking?

  7. Not a cookie exactly, but we have to make "Stained Glass Windows" every year! Melted chocolate, colored marshmallows and coconut -yum

  8. Those sound interesting! Would they work on gingerbread houses?

  9. They might on gingerbread houses only if kept cool, the chocolate gets kind of "melty" :) after awhile
