Wherefore art thou, Spring?

Looking at these photos that I took just Sunday (yesterday!) at the Garden Center in town, you would think that we are in the midst of a lovely sunny springtime.

But in fact while these trees and shrubs and flowers are blooming on schedule, we are huddled in the house trying to stay warm and dry.

Today it rained, broke for a few minutes of sorta-sun, rained some more, and blew like the dickens. The baseball game was canceled for fear the boys would freeze and blow away.

Tonight, at supper time

Come on, Oregon! Get it together! Let's have spring!

We've been waiting for it all winter. We're ready!

  1. Deny thy father and refuse thy name...sorry. I couldn't help myself. Recently attended a Shakespeare play.

    Snow? Really?

Do come visit us! 80's all week with lows in the 50's.

  2. I think that's what the PNW is all about... surprises.

You could come visit me... it's nice here! And you can help me plant things and prepare a birthday party.

Also-- did you know that "wherefore" means "why"? It's kinda like we would say "what for" and mean "why". She's not asking "WHERE are you Romeo" but "WHY are you Romeo... who cares about your name, etc., etc."

  3. Preach it, sister! I am so ready for summer!

  4. Okay, so "WHY" are you called "Spring" when it's still winter??
